Mineraldye
MINERALDYE is a project that creates an optimized dyeing process in which precious minerals and stone pigments are used to colour yarns.
Production process
The process incorporates the dyeing of natural yarns using the colours of marble and minerals in combination with a patented production process. The pigments are procured from the byproducts of the stone industry.
Material properties
MINERALDYE is yarn dyed with natural pigments.
The material can be manufactured in different colours from different stones and minerals.
Availability
Made in Italy
Circular features
The production process optimizes energy and water consumption (up to 150%). 1-20 litres of water is used for dyeing MINERALDYE, whereas traditional dyeing uses almost 150 litres.
It also utilizes the byproducts/waste of the stone and marble industry.
Raw Materials
Cotton, Linen, Silk, and Techwool dyed with marble stone and natural minerals.
Afterlife Plan
The yarns can undergo recycling.
