Tômtex
Tômtex is a biobased leather-like material made from 100% bio-based ingredients. The innovative circular material is derived from waste seashells, wasted coffee grounds and natural colours, all without the need for a backing material or the tanning process.
The material is available in a range of colours and textures and can be used as a replacement for any textured surface including animal skin/exotic skin textures, and other design patterns.
The material is a fantastic circular product, as it is derived from an existing waste stream. It is also a substitute for existing harmful materials and at end of life, the material can be recreated back into new TômTex material or fully biodegrade in the natural environment.
The sustainable material, also consumes significantly less water, energy, and land use compared to the standard production of faux or animal leathers.
