rPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate)

rPET is recycled PET, due to the huge consumption of single-use PET in water bottles and food packaging rPET is an emerging recycled resource.

PET is one of the most popular plastics used on the market, it’s used in a range of applications from film, to plastic drink bottles to textiles. It is originally derived from fossil fuels but in comparison to other plastics, it can also be recycled relatively easily.

Traditional mechanical recycling methods for PET have been a downstream method of quality. The hard plastic is chopped, melted and woven into polyester fibres for use in textiles. Recently emerging chemical recycling technology is now enabling PET to be recycling up and down the quality chain.

Textile

rPET  is readily available as a polyester textile material. The fabric is able to be chemically recycled, which enables it to be recycled indefinitely into new PET recycled products.
Ideal use is with other recycled PET components to make a full 100% recycled mono-material PET product.

Pellet

rPET is available in Pellet form and generally used for transparent applications.

rPET in pellet form is a hard rigid plastic made from post-consumer plastic bottles and recycled PET. The material comes in pellet form, it\\\\’s light, strong, shatterproof and resistant to micro-organisms.

The material is commonly used for carbonated and non-carbonated plastic bottles.
