Piñatex is a natural textile made from the waste of pineapple plantation crops.

The non-woven material is made from pineapple leaf fibre and can be used as an alternative to leather and petroleum
based textiles.

Piñatex is is a fantastic circular material as it is derived from a by-product of the agriculture industry. No extra
land, water or pesticides are required to produce the raw material. The dyes used for Piñatex are GOTS approved
and the resins comply with AFIRM standards. Piñatex is vegan and also REACH compliant.

The material is versatile, lightweight and durable, making it suitable for use across fashion and interior furnishings.

The material is created through the pineapple leaf fibres (PALF) being combined with a corn-based PLA to create the non-woven mesh textile which is Piñatex.

The finished material is a beautiful natural non-woven textile that is PETA-Approved Vegan certified. It is water-resistant, ethically sourced and has a low environmental impact. The base material is 100% biodegradable which makes up 90% of the product.

Piñatex is made from 90% biodegradable material. The last 10% is the PU surface coating used to protect the material. The company has taken a deliberate approach in the design of the product, to design for maximum longevity. The afterlife solution is to last as long as possible.
