The Clean cover is an advanced surfboard cover designed with the circular principles of Durability and Product life extension. The cover is estimated to last 3-4 times longer than rational covers, keeping materials in use for longer.

Designed for lifestyle brand Clean Generation, the Clean skin cover, is also designed on a circular pathway. The project is currently in the first phase of the journey, by embracing material life along with being designed for material collection. The company is also on the path to establishing a circular business model, with repair and take back schemes, and the implementation of an RFID thread for material tracking. Product Details

Traditional surfboard covers are all built with a major inherent weakness. The covers are used at the beach and the salt spray of the ocean causes board bag zippers to seize up. Although existing board covers can be made from strong and durable materials they only have a limited lifespan due to zipper seizure.

Because of this, within a relatively short time frame, the whole cover ends up as landfill.

Finding a solution to this problem was the aim and inspiration for the development of the Clean Skin cover, the goal was to design out the problem.

During the development phase of the project we made a number of prototypes, we talked to surfers, we tested extensively until we perfected the design and ironed out all the kinks.

The end solution involves a board bag that is sealed using a roll and clip mechanism. The surfboard cover is designed to last and made to the highest standard, ensuring that the surfboards are protected for as long as possible.
