PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is one of the most popular plastics used on the market. It is used in a range of applications from the film, to plastic drink bottles to textiles.
In comparison to a lot of other plastics, it can also be recycled relatively easily. Traditional recycling methods for PET have been a downstream method of quality, from hard plastic like bottles to woven fibres of polyester for textiles, but recent chemical recycling technology is now enabling PET to be recycling up and down the quality chain.
PET is a fossil-based plastic that is not biodegradable but recyclable.
