Mosevic makes sunglasses out of waste denim. The reclaimed denim is actually solid denim (or Micarta) that consists of layers that have been infused with a bio-based resin & pressed together into a solid sheet.

The brand makes excellent use of waste as a resource and yet still looks and feels like fresh denim. By looking at the edges of the frames, you can see the beautifully intricate pattern that is caused by cutting through the cotton fibres. These cotton fibres make this material very strong.

There are two options while buying the glasses:

- With Zeiss polarized lenses that are tinted with a brilliant, warm gradient

- If one needs a prescription, the glasses are sent with ‘dummy lenses’ that your optician can swap with your prescription. This comes equipped with instructions for your optician on how to do so.

Production process

The waste denim is soaked in a bio-based resin. This denim sheet is precisely machined into component parts that are assembled with carefully designed metal reinforcements.

The temple arms are reinforced with a spring steel core which is flexible enough to relieve the pressure behind the ears. These arms are fixed to the frame by sturdy 5-barrel hinges.

These chic sunglasses are shaped to fit your head comfortably and are also designed not to slip.

Lastly, the sunglasses are provided with a natural wax finish which renders them waterproof and easy to clean. The frame comes with laser-etched graphics filled with ink that does not rub off.

These voguish sunglasses are made in small batches in Cornwall, UK and come with a 2-year warranty.
