FREITAG recycles used truck tarp to create unique and highly-functional bags & accessories.

Production process

The used tarp is foraged from trucks, truckers & haulage companies. It is then sent to the factory to be given an ID for traceability & is also tested for safe constituents.

The tarp is relieved of eyelets, straps & belts & cut to its standard length. It then undergoes rigorous washing & cleaning using around 15,000 litres – almost 4000 gallons – of rainwater daily.

After drying, the bags are then designed to make the most unique products.

Finally, FREITAG’s partners all over Europe stitch & sew the tarp to make the final product which is sold in markets around the globe.

Material properties

Made of used tarpaulin (in turn made of PVC) procured from trucks, the tarp is tested & disinfected off its harmful substances.

The material is tough, durable and water-resistant.

Circular features

Recycled and long-lasting. Production involves the usage of rainwater harvesting  & minimal chemicals.

FREITAG also provides repair & exchange services for its products, hence ensuring that the materials remain in the cycle for long.
