Faunawood
Fauna wood is a new innovative bio-based timber material, that is created by impregnating the timber with a bio-resin. The bio-resin is derived from wood residue using a pyrolysis technique and when combined with the timber increases it’s resistance to damage.
Faunawood has been developed by Foreco, it uses sustainably managed forests FSC® or PEFC certification and its primary use are in the creation of fence posts. The material is 100% circular as old Faunawod can be used as input for the bio-resin. Reduces Material consumption and Waste. The new material has a longer lifespan than existing posts which in turn reduces overall material use. It also utilises a current waste stream for the bio-resin which would have otherwise been landfill.
