ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon

  • Product Details
  • Additional Information

ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon textile made from waste nylon. The material performs like new nylon and can be indefinitely recycled. Current application for ECONYL® includes carpet, upholstery and clothing, carpets and other interior applications.

The great aspect of the material is that it is created entirely from waste nylon that would otherwise end up in landfill or be polluting our oceans. The material is created by using waste fabric scraps, used carpet, industrial plastics and recovered fishing nets. The process involves collecting the nylon waste and then regenerating it into new nylon products.

The product is a fantastic circular material as it reduces the need for new nylon to be made from crude oil, it eliminates waste from landfill and removes waste fishing nets from the oceans.

Environmental Benefits

For every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® raw material, we are able to save 70,000 barrels of crude oil and avoid 65,100 tonnes of CO2 eq. emissions.
As well as being a solution on waste, ECONYL® regenerated nylon is also better when it comes to climate change. It reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared with the material from oil.
