Chip[s] Board
Chip[s] Board is an innovative circular biomaterial made from food waste.
The range of beautiful bioplastics and bio-plastic materials perform equally to conventional plastics whilst ensuring a circular life. They are durable, recyclable, biodegradable, and do not emit harmful VOCs. They do not contain toxic chemicals.
Among others, the company utilises industrial potato waste. The process relies on non-food-grade industrial potato waste to manufacture products—no edible potato chips are processed.
So far, they have produced the following materials:
- Chip Particle Board (CPB): The board can be used for various interior design projects, including wall partitions. It can replace reliance on MDF products such as baseboard, trim, and moulding for interiors.
- Chip Strand Board (CSB): This board is a smooth fiberboard with incredible surface finish and tensile strength.
- Parblex (PBX): This material is a bioplastic designed primarily for use in the fashion industry for accessories and fastenings. This translucent bioplastic has a smooth surface finish as well. The material is compatible with multiple industrial processing techniques such as injection moulding, 3D printing, and milling.
Coffee grounds, oak shavings, and olive wood dust help achieve different shades and finishes.
Chip[s] Board is also designing and creating several other innovative and sustainable circular materials using potato waste, including lampshades and milk stools.
