PaperClay
PaperClay is a board material made from waste paper. The circular material can be embedded in innovative projects in the fields of design and interiors.
Production process
Design An Mor works with local partners to classify, shred, and manufacture waste paper into new fibre materials. The entire production process is designed as a cycle, from waste paper to secondary raw materials and from that to finished products. It loops until every piece of material no longer needed is ground up and remade into a finished product.
Material properties
The aesthetical value and the intrinsic property of the paper material allow it to be integrated into product designs. Due to the complexity and variety of paper scraps, they carry remnants of pre-recycling styles and treatments that make each piece of PaperClay unique in colour, composition, and structure.
Design An Mor has also incorporated local minerals and metal oxides available in diverse colours into PaperClay.
PaperClay is a strong, durable and modular product exclusively developed by Design An Mor.
It finds its applications in interior design, furniture, gallery exhibition, fashion, etc.

Circular features
Paper accounts for 70% of a company’s total waste. Hence, Design An Mor is exploring the physical and aesthetic properties of this local resource to contribute to the circular economy. By working with local partners to classify, shred, and manufacture waste paper into new fibre materials, Design An Mor provides local employment and promotes socio-economic development. The entire production process loops as a cycle and retrieves the value from secondary raw material.
Hence, Design An Mor unites these paper scraps and natural minerals to produce a material with minimal ecological impact.
