  • Additional Information

Lovr is an innovative circular material made from hemp residues. It is a great vegan alternative to leather. Lovr stands for "leather-like, oil-free, vegan, residue-based".

Born out of the idea that "Only what grows back has a future", the material has an excellent end-of-life plan being both recyclable and biodegradable. The material is durable and has a leather-like feel.

Production Process

The manufacturing process uses residual materials from hemp grown in Germany.

They are stored and cut into short, fine fibres. Those fibres are the raw material and are then used for further processing. Although it is made from hemp fibres, the production process can be adapted and applied to various agricultural residues.

In addition, it ensures a minimal carbon footprint — it requires only 0.3% of the CO2 emissions generated by conventional leather production.

Material Properties

Lovr is durable and long-lasting. It looks and feels like leather but remains cruelty-free. It consists of only one layer, making it more convenient for further processing, e.g., sewing. That makes it easy to work with and eventually recycle.

It is just as robust as animal leather and can be easily processed with the same techniques. Chemicals-free, the textile is recyclable and biodegradable.

Lovr is also versatile — it can become a range of new sustainable products in the fashion, automotive, and furniture industries.
