(Bio Polyethylene)

Bio-PE (Bio Polyethylene) is a bio-based non-biodegradable bioplastic.

It is derived from the sugar found in sugarcane

The plastic performs as per traditional fossil-based PE (polyethylene), with the only difference being the original feedstock is sourced from a bio-based renewable resource. Bio-PE is not biodegradable like other bioplastics, but it can be recycled alongside other plastic waste.

Common uses for Bio-PE include carry bags, films and bottles.

Circular Features

Raw Material

Bio-PE is derived from a natural renewable source (sugar cane) compared to traditional fossil fuel-based PET.

Afterlife Plan

Bio-PE can be recycled just the same as traditional PE, this can be mechanical or chemically recycled.
